A nice-looking blue Viscount Aerospace Grand Sport in St Albans. Only one photo, of the non-drive side, so difficult to be certain, but the frame and decals look quite good. Inexplicable bit of brick red on the seat tube though. I would have thought that the low flange wheels weren't original. I believe that we have a forum member from St Albans, although this bike has quite a big frame (22.5" or 23" - 57-58 cm ?). Low starting price - £10 - could pick up a bargain.

John, The paint scheme & hubs may be standard for the later GS. I have one just the same that I picked up for £25 (including the work stand shown and a box of tools & spokes) when I was the sole bidder for a 'collect in person only' offer in Halifax. $_57 by RMT@261, on Flickr The eBay item looks to have similar geometry to mine, which I think has a 24" frame. Mine has all the fine qualities we expect of an Aerospace Viscount, so this could be a bargain for someone who's 5'11" or more and can get to St Albans easily. If anyone would like a similar frame, I have a spare one, also 24", as pictured, which I was given with another purchase. I think I must have reached some kind of 'critical mass', when frames start coming to me instead of me having to look for them! DSC02555 by RMT@261, on Flickr Rob.

Rob's one is very similar to the Grand Sport I spotted at Emily's in Whitwell in November. Had an email yesterday from a Veteran-Cycle Club friend in Hoddesdon to say he has bought it! And, what's more, a local friend has just divulged that he has a 1976 (? I've forgotten, it was 75/76/77 ish) Viscount, complete with Death Fork, which he bought in St Albans, I need to go round and check it out. And get him on here, of course.

I think the ebay one is bigger than mine, which is a 23.5, and is as big as I can ride. When the wheels look small and the head tube looks long, it's bigger than 23.5!
