Just a few miles from where I picked mine up last year (or maybe the year before ?) It looks on a par, or maybe even better than the one I picked up. So, looks ok, and with a 'make an offer' option, I'd expect to pay less than the 'buy it now' price. I'd even take a chance on a 2 figure opening gambit...but that's just me I certainly be up for this if I didn't have one! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Viscount-Aerospace-600-EX-Cycle-/162406559272?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276EDIT - someone really ought to grab this. Whilst I'm not over that way for a while, if you can't pick it up and the seller isn't in a rush, then I should be able to get over there within a month ...it's about 30 miles away. PM me if interested

Yes it is, and I liked the 80s! It seemed the end of an era as I did not like the splash and slime paint schemes of the 90s. Today, some who are trendy, paint their bikes (and all of its parts) flat black, except for the lavender rims; that is not me. Some modern bikes have nice paint schemes (I like my 2007 Cannondale scheme www.pedalroom.com/bike/2007-cannondale-system-six-27915 ) so I suppose there is something for everyone. Since I am an old fart; my taste favors the past. All the Best Jim

It's the same colour as mine and (if I remember right) the same as Sooper8's. According to the spec of the time 'Linden' was the only colour the 600ex was offered in, but with Viscount, you never can tell. The spec is wrong about the stem and bars. Incidentally, if anyone knows of an available substitute for Linden green for touching-in chips I would be very interested. Cannondale uses a green that might be close. 600EX-data by Cusqueno, on Flickr And here is the bike, from a sales brochure: 600EX by Cusqueno, on Flickr

Mmh, just spotted none drive side crank arm is not the shimano 600. Not the end of the world but spoils the overall feeling of getting a bike that needs nothing doing/buying

This frame is identical to mine as in no mudguard mounts , all the others I've seen are the same as the one for sale .

The winner of the 600ex has posted about it on the Cycling UK Forum (used to be CTC) on the long Viscount thread started by Busaste. His name is familiar from some bike context or other.

Evening i am the gent in question some may or may not know me but apart from the non original crank arm and a change of tyres, bar tape , pedals and saddle all else looks original spec . Apart from a short test ride still not ridden it yet but certainly looking forward to doing some miles on it

Magnificent bike! One of the best ever in my opinion. The price/looks/spec/quality balance was just about perfect.
Deserved 'International Bike of the Year' winner back in the day.
