Perhaps.... but the frame geometry looks off.... maybe just photo distortion. My two Viscounts... both ASP have seat and head tubes angles that are the close to equal perhaps ~ 72 degrees. This bike appears to have a relaxed seat tube and a visibly more vertical head tube Here's another lugless Peugeot w/ Reynolds 501 tubing: Ventoux

Yes, it looks some like a lugless Peugeot, those came along cerca 1985+/- www.bikeboompeugeot.com/Brochures%20UK/Peugeot%201986%20UK%20Brochure/Peugeot%201986%20UK%20Brochure%20Tristar.jpg (1986 British catalog, lugless Peugeots) Lots of other useful info here. But how long were Crane derailleurs used? Were they not gone by 1980? This presents an anomaly in an otherwise minty looking bike. www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/Shimano_Crane_derailleur_%28DR-101%29.htmlSo, that makes it interesting, I note too, I'm studying the back chain and seatstays; and the little hole where those tubes meet at the back dropouts. The "ping" (flicking the tubing with one finger to hear "ping") test of course, would settle this readily. Can one see the hole in that dropout area clear enough? Also, at least, for 1986, the cable guide going to the rear mech on the Peugeot is under on the rear chainstay, Viscounts seem to be on top of that back chainstay BUT... I understand that is how Peugeots are often dated, by whether the cables are on top or on the bottom. That appears to be the case in '85 too.
So, there are some leads. That with the cable routing to the Rear Mech would seem revealing. How interesting to catch these little clues. Perhaps requesting a serial number from the seller might help too.

1983, French Peugeot catalog, it seems that rear derailleur cable is clearly going underneath the back chainstay. www.bikeboompeugeot.com/Brochures%20France/Peugeot%201983%20France%20Brochure/Peugeot_1983_French_Brochure_Page7_BikeBoomPeugeot.JPGThose are some details for investigation, often, off the top of my head, I would not remember if the cable was on top or on the bottom. Then, again, the alleged red Peugeot is a 12 speed vs. 10. And another thing I wonder about... www.flickr.com/photos/118807616@N08/31299678892/in/dateposted-public/Peugeots usually always have the braze on cable guides I would say, while Viscounts, Aerospaces like mine would seemingly have the clip on metal guides on the top tube. This is another thing to investigate. I don't know if Peug ever used metal guides on the top tube. Braze-ons as we call them with most Peugeots I've seen.www.bikeboompeugeot.com/Brochures%20USA/Peugeot%201986%20USA%20Brochure/Peugeot%201986%20USA%20Brochure%20Page%207.jpgCusqueno has a very good eye. Kind of incredible, I'm finding more things, checking down the list. This is all a lot of writing; so I hope it all can be followed. Nice paint job on that red bike, whatever it is.

If you're not using Viscount hubs, a six-speed rear works with Viscounts. Also check out the bottom bracket... all black without signs of lock ring you would see on a threaded type.
Also pedals with missing dust caps look familiar. And whats going on with that seat post clamp?
My question is why would someone repaint a Viscount and then deliberately mis-represent it as a Peugeot?

I agree with the previous postings as to the difference, and lack of, braze ons, cable routing and so forth. The lugless Peugeots I have seen (as well as the picture that was posted)have a very different seat stay, and seat clamp treatment. Also, if a Peugeot, the rear drop outs would be adjustable, and it would have 700c wheels. If I imagine it without the decals, I see no Peugeot in it. The seat stay treatment and seat clamp do look Lambert/Viscount to me. I think it indeed to be of Lambert/Viscount origin. The giant gorilla in the room is, why someone would paint it as a Peugeot? The seller (CJ Cycles) looks to be mostly a Mountain/BMX shop; perhaps they were hoodwinked? Perhaps one of our English members could expose it as fraudulent, offer £50 for it, and set things right.
Cheers Jim

minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bik/5868951586.htmlThis Peugeot looks scrumptious, they came out with a few named after places in those years, Versailles, Bordeaux and others. One of those is a model really in demand. I forget which. As it is, I do have a lugless Motobecane, inexternal brazing, it seems close to the same concept. It's tubing is just their Motolite vs. Phoenix, Vitus, Reynolds and so on.

I used to have, and very much enjoyed, a PH10 (Reynolds 501); The PY10 is a bit nicer (having Reynolds 531Pro) but the PH10 was an excellent ride as well. I think you would very much enjoy the bike in the ad. Cheers Jim

cusqueno-
It's definitely not a DBS (Direct Brazing System) Peugeot. Those were 80s and the decals on the frame are early 1970s. As well, DBS frames are clean at the tube joints unlike the lugless brass, fillet tapered joints found on Lamberts and Viscounts. The fork itself is after market of some kind. My DBS Peugeot Crono (Canadian market and production) had a seat clamp collar but not like the one shown. So, probably a messed about with Lambert / Viscount.

Well, it does say "Not sure on brand of frame and forks. Has been remade into a Peugeot bike" which I take to mean simply rebranded by the application of stickers the seller happened to have in the garage.
Also, why is it headlined as having 700C wheels when the description subsequently states 27"?? Looks a lot bigger than a 22" frame, as well.

I believe this might be a CFX-10 - see Peugeot CFX10 - Aneto - Reynolds 531 Not to be confused with 'Anetos' that were apparently made with 501 tubing. Mine had a varied collection of components - Campy chain set, Mavic FD, rest I can't remember. I fitted a Mavic RD and sold the bike because it was too small. Nice bike though.

I am 100% certain that the bike is a VA Aerospace Pro of 1978 vintage.
Would stake my life on it.
Well spotted John!!!
