A really nice bike, despite the lack of identifying decals. Well spotted! Apart from the re-paint and the Cyclone RD, it's quite original - Viscount Stem, skewers, DF and presumably hubs. Slightly odd that it has side-pull brakes. Nice cranks & chainset with Lambert bolts. And my size! But we have had a major frivolous purchase this month - new flooring for lounge &c - so I'm not feeling rich. Also about 2 hours 30 each way. Good photo of the arrangement of the gear cables at the bottom bracket - that's what I have on the frame I'm building up at the moment.

Well John it's probably less than an hour from me,so if you feel like a bid let me know. I could pick it up and bring it over for DFR4.5. Same for any one else. Cheers, Pete.

My size too! But a bit far away for me to pick up. A pity, because it looks like putting this in order would while away the long winter evenings quite nicely!
I LIKE Suntour RDs!

I wasn't disparaging the Cyclone, in fact I have one on my Suntour-equipped Viscount Aerospace 400 Frame, which I am using a lot at the moment (while the weather is fine). It's got Cyclone RD & chainset and Superbe FD, brakes, levers and pedals.

My Corsair has the Cyclone Mk-II short-cage derailleur (3500), which isn't "supposed" to be able to handle the 28 tooth sprocket (but it does: so it's probably got the longer hanger - according to Disraeli Gears this comes in 3 sizes). At some time though I'd like to be able to get a Mk-II 3700, because I'd like to replace the sprocket set with something a bit larger, to give me less grief on some of the hills up here. - I have a Raleigh that has a 50t/36t chainset which combined with a 14-17-21-26-32 sprocket and a 3700 RD is more touring-friendly and means that it's the ride of choice when I head west into the Dales. The Viscount likes the Vale of York, though.

Couldn't see any labels on the rims. It looks as though they're original eqipment. At least they're not steel! I'm hoping someone on here buys it,just to save me the grief of "another bloody bike"! As I bought a Vitus 797 frame the week before last.I'll attempt to put some photos up of it. Cheers, Pete.

So, did anyone here manage to bag the anonymous Lambert/Viscount? £41 seems about right, given the interesting parts. I do hope we're not going to see them appear as separate items on EBay over the next few weeks.

It wasn't me. A very good price for an enthusiast. As you say Rob,a strip and sell job is more likely! If it was one of our own,I'm happy to pick it up and bring it to DFR4.5. Cheers, Pete.

I can safely say that if I lived in, or near Oregon then I'd be making an offer for this.
