I'm a bit surprised that people haven't posted about these bikes. Perhaps everyone plans to bid and is keeping quiet, hoping no-one else will notice. Anyway, it's the bus situation again with Viscounts (& one Lambert) - all coming at once. What looks like a very nice Ladies Viscount in Burnham-on-Sea. Most of what looks like a smallish, clean Aerospace Sport (lacks wheels) in Epsom. What looks like a good 60cm early Aerospace Sport in the West Midlands. And finally a small (21" is stated) Lambert in Burnley. This has some nice points but the chainset isn't original and the whole bike is in a bit of a two and eight (as us loveable Cockneys say). In my opinion, worth quite a lot short of the starting price, but make up your own minds. Has one of the Marks of Death Fork but, as I can easily believe it has done some serious touring, presumably not the first version.

I looked at the ladies bike just this morning. Very nice indeed. That bike will probably be on the road long after most of us are gone. It just seems like one of those old reliable bikes that will keep on going.
I thought the Sport frame looked nice too and would be tempted to bid but am totally broke at the moment. And even if it went for a song, Epsom is quite a way to fetch it for me.
And as for the Lambert - I agree, a bit steep for that. However, as I have pointed out before, some of those vintage Carradice saddle bags (even in not so great condition ) can fetch £20 or £30 which would offset the overall cost.(and is it an old Brooks saddle? People go mad for those too)

Funny how they all come along together like buses. Really like the ladies bike. Was thinking about the one without wheels, but not sure if I want to compromise from 23 to 22".

I'd love to know what the story is with the red frame without wheels.
They can't have been trashed as the bike itself looks in great condition. That long arm rear derailleur (Titlist?) is looking good too.
I really would go for this is it were nearer and it didn't go much above £30, just for the chromed fork alone, as my Sport has nasty corrosion of the fork!

Hey, all. Sorry for being absent of late; been a bit busy with other things.
Very curious about this frame with invisible wheels. Agree with Sooper; would be interested just for the forks only. There are quite a few Viscounts popping up at the moment. I'm wondering if it's all out fault. I'm afraid I won't get a shopper any time soon. Certainly not for 50 quid. I'm in general not a great fan of those shoppers and would only get one to 'add' to my collection. :-)

Btw, the seller of the red Aerospace Sport (without wheels) , has the brakes and most importantly the brake 'hangers' (is that the term?) as they are vital. He wants £25 on top of the bike for the break bits. Although the calliper's and break levers might be worth something to someone, surely the 'hangers' are not much use on many other bikes? So, best price scenario here is £55

Hi,you can still get new "hangers" from ebay,as used on bikes with cantilever brakes. As for Mafac centre pulls, they're none original. If anyone here is interested in buying this,I can let them have a pair of bnos Lambert centre pulls. Steve gave them to me at DFR1, so more than happy to see them go to a good home for the cost of postage,or free at DFR2. Cheers, Pete.

Pete- that is very interesting, can you give me a link to the 'hangers' on Ebay? I don't know why I presumed they were specific to the peculiarities of the bike, except that I have a vague memory of Bustaste telling me it would save me a lot of hassle if the bike at the time I was buying at the time had them.

Hi Jem, I'll have to have a look now wont I?I'm not to good at linking,ie,no idea how to,but I'll have a trawl and l'll post item numbers. Canti brake hangers are the same,at least for the front.May not have the quick release though. Rear are basically the same. On the case! Cheers, Pete.

Most of what looks like a smallish, clean Aerospace Sport (lacks wheels) in Epsom. If anyone wants to go halves (or some other fraction?) on the above bike then let me know asap. I can't justify buying it, as I don't need it, but would would love the front fork for my existing Sport ( half chromed but corroded ) I would be happy to let my fork go back to you to put on the bike after I'd swapped them out? Maybe this would work for someone? Maybe it's a stupid idea, as here's a nice bike that just needs breaks and wheels... However, as it stands , I won't be bidding on this.

I've been toying as it's not far from London. As you, I'd be interested in the fork as well as the other bits. 22" is perfect for me. Maybe we should go halves and you get the fork while I take the rest? What do you think? I need the bits for my rally bike. :-) Ah, it now has one bid. So it'll probably start a whole string of bids now. Email me, Jem, with what you think.
And I can't justify buying anything more at the moment! Groan.

So who got it, then? Anyone of us? I will have to sit on my hands for a while. That frame had--if I saw this correctly--those reddish quick release thingies on the brake levers. Two of my bikes have them and I love 'em.
Re those hangers with QR: I think they're awesome. And so are the Weinmann branded yokes. By the way, some Viscounts were fitted with Mafac. Curious, I know. My front brake is Mafac, rear is NOS Weinmann. I have the front brake, too, but am waiting to find a bolt for it. I've learned that Mafac bolts are not compatible with Weinmann brakes.
