Feeling a bit silly. I've always thought that the Imperial size allen keys to fit early Lambert and Viscount components were hard to get hold of and always bodged something up when (for instance) tightening or loosening a stem. Now I've found they are in fact easy to find. These are cheap at £3.94 delivered in the UK: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Duty-Imperial-Hex-Allen-Key-Expert-Set-Allan-Alan-Alen-10-Piece-1-16-3-8-/252185772651?hash=item3ab771826b:g:jcsAAOSw8-tWVfPHAnd you can get a matching set of metric ones from the same seller for £5.94 delivered for the two sets. They are not of the highest quality but look tough enough to last for a reasonable while. Not very long either and without ball ends. But for that price, you can't go wrong. Viscount stem requires a 7/32" allen key I expect everyone else was aware of this. Duh!

John, Thanks for that, I've just ordered a set. Imperial hex keys are also required if you wish to strip and re-assemble an original 'porthole' chainset. Replacement TA bolts are metric (and quite expensive), but the original Lambert/Viscount double ring hex-socket nuts will be damaged if you try to use metric hex keys or a torx bit. You don't need to ask how I know .

I got my set from Screwfix. Both Imperial and Metric in the same pack. They were cheap and good quality. They are also sized for the torque required. Check their website for current prices. Cheers. Pete.

Home Hardware do a separate set of each at around a fiver a set. They seem pretty sturdy to me.
