One of these has surfaced, in good condition although with some surface rust: Viscount Aerospace 600ax 1981Now, that's going to give me some sleepless nights.

Looks ideal, if it was 23" I'd think about it myself.

Looks bigger than 21 1/2"to me,more like a 23".700c wheels? I don't think they can be original. Don't remember seeing Shimano 600 centre pulls like that "in the day". Of course I could be utterly wrong, the way parts bin assembly went on. Looks like it could be a good buy for someone here. Cheers, Pete.

The item specifics in the listing are wrong (they say it's a Bianchi) - I think including the frame size. The brakes aren't centre pulls in the accepted meaning of the phrase. They are 'aerodynamic' ones from Shimano's ax range (sometimes called alphax or alfax). This comprised Dura Ace, 600 and Adamas group sets, all with these types of brakes and aero brake levers. The brakes are pretty and have has enthusiastic followers, notably Lance Armstrong, but they are generally agreed to be lacking in stopping power. Sometimes these types of brake mechanisms are called 'para pulls', but I'm not sure if that is correct.

Actually, they say it's not a Bianchi. Don't think the brakes are as pretty as Campag Deltas though. Cheers, Pete.

Just saw that, too. Agree it doesn't look like a 21.5 frame and I also doubt that the 700c wheels are original. My heat instantly beat faster, but I really shouldn't go and get more bikes. I just can't. *sigh* Need to concentrate on the Indy500 and the tourer I'm going to build for the rally. Components are priority.

One possibility is that if the seller uses eBay a fair bit then they re-use the same template for selling similar items like bikes but then forget to change the details in that part of the listing. It's easily done, and I have done it myself with wrist watches. The seller is normally only aware when a buyer asks about the contradiction

True, I'd be a typical candidate for such errors. Will have to be VERY careful, knowing that.
Kev: by the looks of it, I'd say it's at least 23" (quite steep seat stays); go for it! I reckon it's going for around 100. Doubt it'll be less.

I reckon it's going for around 100. Doubt it'll be less. I think I would agree, maybe a bit more... I'll guess £126 I would personally pay more for the lurid green colour than this one, all other things being equal- I would be put off paying too much for this one due to rust on frame.
