I've dismantled the original rear wheel that came with my Victor, as the dimpled steel rim is dented and rusty. The exercise has produced more examples of the quality that Viscount had available to them back in the day. I was able to unfasten every spoke nipple without any problem at all, and retrieved all 36 rustless spokes and nipples for stock/emergency use. I've cleaned up the large flange nutted axle hub, which revealed a new name to me - Suzue. They do a 32-hole version for anyone seeking to reduce their spoke count. Has anyone else come across these hubs on a Viscount? I'm not sure whether to carry on polishing or to leave the 'beausage' bloom on it before building it into a Rigida rim.

I know of Suzue hubs and they are good. Beausage with use, is one of the things I like about metal.

I wasn't aware of Suzue? What country of origin are they?

Japan, according to the shells over the bearing races.
Having got so far with Solvol Autosol, I watched the BAFTAs while rubbing in some Autoglym metal polish and wax. It's now VERY SHINY!
PS Jem, congratulations to Burton Albion on their promotion to the Championship.

PS Jem, congratulations to Burton Albion on their promotion to the Championship. Yes, I can't believe we will be playing the likes of Aston Villa next season- that is going to be very strange.
