Revisionist Theory of Bicycle Sizing sheldonbrown.com/frame-sizing.htmlKind of interesting; size is a bit relative. Yes, we want a well fitting bike but I find some bikes, despite not being my size can work relatively well too. In my case, I've found some smaller frames, do give a good ride. I'm undecided on this, I do have a smaller bike with nice control but I can hit the front wheel some time with my foot it seems. Note, the Sheldon Brown article does get technical in places, some people here really do get into some of the more technical aspects; that is good.

You can do a lot of tuning with saddle height, stem length and stem height. If you can tune it to fit, ride it! I agree with Sir Sheldon that top tube length is more critical; mostly because it is harder to adjust than seat tube (saddle height). I have several older 58cm frames that suffer toe clip overlap; this used to be common on frames with steep head angles. It is harder to avoid on smaller frames.
