On sale on eBay UK in Hythe, Kent. Appears to have been attacked with a chain. The saddle is hard [sic] to believe. But it could be a bargain for someone wanting a Viscount hack bike. Hard to hazard a guess as to the model. Nice brake levers and reasonable brakes (Tourney CPs). Wheels might have alloy rims - replacements?

Might be 'International' on the down tube? - see in the close-up of the bars. But not as nice (even before it was abused) as some Internationals, although the half chrome forks suggest a certain quality. And is that an RD hanger? Although it can only ever have been five speed with that cottered chain set.

It's a boa constrictor.

I bought it! (saw this thread after my first post), as for being masochistic this bike is in better condition than my last restoration project, an early eighties Puch Silver Phantom that I dragged out of a skip.

I'm glad you found us! So it is a Colorado? My friend had one of these in 1981. Long black and silver mudguards and rear rack.

Yes it's a Colorado but it is far from all original ie., A steel front wheel but ali rear, straight mountain bike steel bars with non matching brake levers, the short mudguards are of the era as is the steel cotter pinned BB (not seen a cotter pin for years and was glad to find one among my copious junk collection) and an Alvio rear mech. I admit to having never heard of these bikes before I saw the advert but at £15 and so close to home it was of little consequence if it turned out to be of no use. Glad to see there is significance to this brand. Am now looking for a 'Norman' brand bike as they were the local manufacturers in Ashford (Kent) who were producing 5,000 bikes a week before they closed in the early 60's.
