I did not know of this trick, it really works well; especially on chrome but I think it is not bad for the whole bike. Now, I forget which link I got it from but there are ample suggestions for it. www.robertscycle.com/chrome-clean.html

I must admit, although it works great, I find it to be a really unsatisfying process. I like my cleaning to be mildly therapeutic At least with toothpaste you can see where you've been and it smells nice and rubs on smooth. Tinfoil 'feels' wrong in my hand.(maybe I have one of those phobias, like the people who don't like cotton wool or polystyrene?)
