The attachment is a "how to do it" for the triple conversion and titanium bottom bracket. I have received some inquires as to how I built the drive train for my recent Viscount project; so I decided to post the procedure. In order to make it fit the forum rules, I made a .pdf file (attached). I am very happy with the result and hope that it may help others. How to file: Jims Drive Train for Viscount.pdf (742.43 KB) What it looks like: Cheers Jim

Great post thanks. Like it!!
As an owner of 'chicken legs' and a gammy right hip a nice big first gear sounds very appealling.
Any chance of close up pics of the BB area. I've never used a White Industries BB spindle before. Did you screw the 'cups' into the BB shell?
With the White Industries BB spindle, is there scope for getting it centred in the BB shell? I ask because the way Viscount set their BB spindle up was asymmetrical i.e. your right leg is further away from the centre of the frame than your left. It was only by about 4 - 6mm but there nonetheless. I don't like it - I want my legs to be equally spaced apart (I'm in no hurry to have a gait suitable for herding pigs through just yet...)
Cheers
Steve

With the White Industries BB spindle, is there scope for getting it centred in the BB shell? I think this will help. You do not screw the cups into the BB shell. Instead you discard (sell?) the cups and the bearings; you only use the spindle and lock rings. Like the Viscount BB, you use 6003 bearings in place of the bearings supplied with the White BB. I set the centering to allow clearance between the chain ring screws and the frame. The resulting chain line is quit satisfactory. Except for using lock rings in place of circlips, the White BB installation is exactly the same, and uses the same bearings, as a Viscount BB Install. White also made (this style BB is out of production) chromoly steel versions. It is getting hard to find the right BB; a 114mm (for a double) is on eBay, a bit pricey, but it is found at: www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-White-Industries-English-thread-1-370x24tpi-bottom-bracket-114m-m-Cro-Moly-/381531398639?hash=item58d50b21ef:g:3bwAAOSwGotWqCF3A 123mm Viscount BB will work with a triple as well; just watch the taper. One last thing, my White BB has a 127mm spindle. These photos should help: All the Best Jim
