I'm looking for a good condition 60cm aerospace model, in the midlands. I'm a newcomer to the marque, so any leads or advice would be welcome.
Regards
Al

Hi Al,
Welcome to the forum!
I'm in the Midlands too. You are welcome to come and take a look at some of mine (they're not for sale, but just to give you an idea of what is what) Although I do have an Aerospace Pro frame for sale but not in that size and it needs work doing.
But if you see anything and want us to cast an eye over it then feel free to post up or message.
There are a few on eBay at the moment, a couple quite nice. But, if you are in no rush, then it's probably best to read up and bide your time. I found half the fun was in hunting just the right ones down at the right price.
Good luck on the hunt and if we can be of help then just give us a shout on the forum.
ps there is loads of info over on the CTC forum thread called "does anyone know.." There is a huge Viscount thread on there.

Not sure how 'original' you want it but there is something on Preloved web site in Kidderminster at the moment £80. I quite like it.
It's purple, but the components look top notch even if they are not all original. But to be honest I have no idea what the model is as the picture is a bit too small to make anything much out

Alyn,
Hope you read this post in time...?
I'd get that Bracknell one. It's your size and ready to ride!
I will message you now
EDIT- Just realised 60cm is 23.5" or thereabouts the Bracknell one is 25" , would that still work for you?

In terms of those others on the list.
I like the London one- nice components, just ride it away, no work needed.
I personally wouldn't want a Tony Doyle in that condition unless it was under £20 (sounds harsh, but true) If you want a Tony Doyle then there is going to be one coming up in Scotland soon that was ridden once and put away in storage - see the thread about it in this section) I've never ridden one but when you can pick up an Aerospace for a little bit more, it's no contest.
The Bracknell one I really like but is 25" so fine for the taller gent.
The South Wales one is also looking good. It was noted on CTC forum by Bustaste (the guy who knows pretty much all there is to know on these things) that it has been resprayed at some point. It looks like it would fly! Nice bike

Sorry - just picked up your messages.................... Been to family do in Nottingham I won the Bracknell one and I'm picking it up tomorrow. (I did a completed item search on e-bay and cheekily messaged the first owner - It sounds a straight 2 owner bike - the second owner only seems to have serviced it and fitted a new fork rather than ridden it.) I've got a 63cm Raleigh on the turbo trainer, so no probs with the size. I'll report back tomorrow or Monday. Dug around the Kidderminster one - but it's too small - looks good though. Its being sold by "Spokes" www.spokes-uk.org/product_detail.aspx?ProductID=196&Type=Search%20Results&CategoryID=0&ManufacturerID=0&Colour=&Size=&Price=&New=&Sale=&Keywords=viscount So all in all a happy bunny Thanks Al

Good choice, I like the Bracknell one. If you're passing by Newbury and fancy popping in / having a look at mine, you're more than welcome.

Will do chaps.......
my last "aerospace interest" was (and still is) SAAB cars 14 of them over the last 21 years.
My first was classic (before they were classics) Cold War jets Vulcan, Hunter and Lightning - couldn't believe I was paid for the privilege of working on them!
If anyone's passing near Rugby and wants to pop in for a cuppa and to cast an expert eye over the new bike you'll be most welcome. (In most days over the next month)
Regards and thanks for all the input.

Hey Al - did you pick up the original 'death fork' that the seller was going to include in the sale?

Unfortunately not - to be honest I forgot to ask, he was at work and his wife was doing the hand over.
The bike looks ok - straight and original. Needs new tyres, but I knew that. I'll play with the seat and bars tomorrow.

Exciting news!
I think I might be in the market for a 23 inch Viscount. My twin brother ( who also had a Viscount International when younger ) has expressed an interest in taking up cycling again. He's not been well lately and I think a bike will be just the tonic he needs.
I'm sure you'll all enjoy hunting something down with me. I'd guess the option of putting a rack on it plus a fairly wide gear range would help him as a beginner who will often just be using it to pop down the shops.

Hi Mike, A very warm welcome to the forum. I have mailed you with details of how to post up pics. Also, if you want to create a dedicated thread for your post then the button for that is towards the top right of the screen when in a forum. It is on the red bar and says 'create thread' - once in there it gives options about posting pictures and text etc It would be great to see some pictures and I imagine people would just love to see that bike!!! You are part of a very exclusive club with that bike. You and Cusqueno will only need to hire a very small room for your club meetings, and the drinks bill would be very low with just the two of you Drop me a line if you need anything.
