Hi all, have you seen the blue Sport on the bay? It's a 25" frame,so only of interest to the tall ones amongst us. It seems in good nick, and has had a new chrome fork fitted. It's also got the block beloved by Stella! £60 with a few days to go.A reasonable write up for a change. Cheers, Pete.

It's also got the block beloved by Stella! Do you mean the skip-tooth 1st and 2nd gear? I don't really 'get' what they are - I have never personally had one and just Googled it but I'm still none the wiser...can you explain their point please? Well, let me re-phrase that - I read what the are supposed to do, but how do they 'do it' and do they 'work'? Cheers PS -I think the seller underestimates the height of rider for such a frame?... 25" and good for 5'10"...mmh, I might disagree but then again my inside leg is about 31" or just under

Well from what I can remember, without googling,it was a ploy in the all steel bike days to reduce weight.Only 50% of teeth on the largest sprockets, with an arguably better shift, wasn't a bad thing. 1" chain, chain rings and sprockets were also used historically on the track.Stronger chain and weight reduction in the drive train being the reason,I've been told.Could have just have been what was available,or fashion! Cheers, Pete.

I was wondering why the rear sprocket looked sparsely populated! - I'll let you know how it goes - I just bought this

Skip tooth works fine, I doubt you'll notice any difference.

I hope you have got the 28th of June firmly added to your diary,as we all would love to see you both at DFR2! Congrats on finding us,and a great choice of bike. Cheers, Pete.

I'm liking this marque already. Characterful 70's Hi-tech. As James May might say "Men in sheds producing world class engineering, cup of typhoo in one hand and woodbine stuck to lower lip."
I'll let you know how it looks after I've picked it up.
