Hi all! So I managed to scoop up a Lambert Trophy. Not sure on what year it is, so hopefully someone can help me out on that end! It's not in the greatest condition. But once all the components are cleaned up it will look much better. Paint is faded, which is a bother because the orange is really awesome up close! I think it's mostly original except maybe the seat. When I searched for the Trophy I never did see this color combo, only on the Grand Prix models. So I'm not sure if the decal is correct. Death Fork-y goodness! Thanks for looking, and enjoy!

I do like that color scheme. Good score.

Ooh, jolly good!
Will you also tell us the story behind your acquisition?

Nothing of a fancy story or anything just happened upon a local Craigslist ad and decided the 50mi (80km) drive was worth it!
I am disappointed that the cast pedals didn't have the dust caps. I'm sure it will be impossible to find those!

They never do. Or, if they do, you can't ever use them for fear of losing one! I rode around smugly on a nice pair until that happened. Now all my Viscounts sport (pun!) MKS Sylvan quills, a better pedal anyway (in spite of the lack of needle bearings). The left dust cap on Sylvans can also come off mid ride, but at least you can buy replacements. I love the Lambert front mech. Looks like the same shape as my old Simplex Competition lever-action FD. b

Very nice acquisition. Just be careful with that fork. From personal experience, I can tell you crashes causes by catastrophic failures really can set you back in too many ways. Be safe first! Is that the Lambert from Long Island City, NY???

It is a nice colour! I really like the silver (or at least how it looks on my devices). Seems brighter and lighter than the rather grey 'silver' used on a lot of Viscounts. The orange too. I've never heard of a Lambert Trophy model, but as always one lives and learns ... Although the down tube decal looks as thought it might have been altered?? Not seen a Lambert with a Maxy chainset either - very nice, but might not be original.

That front mech looks like a whammy bar from an old Strat I once had!?!?

FD is, I'm sure, the Lambert 'matchbox' one. A copy of a Campagnolo design.

Is that the Lambert from Long Island City, NY??? Thanks! I'm not sure if I want to make my Aerospace Pro a weekend rider and have the Lambert as a "Trophy" (Punny) or vice versa. Either way whichever bike becomes the weekend rider the Tange fork on the Aerospace Pro will go on that bike. I'm not sure if this is the same Lambert you mention. This one I acquired in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Possibly originated from Los Alamos, New Mexico. The only other Lambert I've seen like mine is this one: www.cyclesnack.com/2010/01/deconstructing-lambert.htmlMaybe this is the one you're talking about? His was a Lambert Grand Prix so maybe my DT decal is wrong?

The Maxy crankset does look correct on Lambert Trophy's but the color combo on this one disputes all other Trophy's and looks more like a Grand Prix. Either way the Maxy crankset looks cool!

This is probably the best example to compare my bike to. This probably means that the handlebars, crankset, seat post clamp, DT decal and possibly some other things are variants of the original bike! Oops!

The lever-action FD's are so awesome! Technology has made bicycling so easy these days haha People say electronic shifting is the future, but I've seen the future and it's wireless!! b

I saw some talk about wireless derailleur's on the GCN cycling channel on YouTube.
And here I though upgrading my single speed to a Sturmey Archer 2spd kickback was the way to go! Haha!

I can't say I've seen an open BB shell on a bicycle from the 70's!

Lambert Trophy, thought I'd bump this thread because we were talking about those Trophies on the auction websites. That's a nice bicycle.
