I had never noticed before , but the advert shows the frame to be a filet brazed Aerospace , but both Cusqueno's and the one in that eBay listing are lugged. Does that mean there are 2 versions? Either way, I guess there were so few made , that it wasn't exactly a regular production line job? I've asked the seller if he has any background on the bike that he can share with us.

Pete, what is it? Don't you know they throw in the fur at that price along with the free shipping!!

I am pretty sure that the lugged frame was produced first, possibly until Trusty got tooled-up to make the fillet brazed ones? I've always assumed that the lugged version could be as early as 1972. There was a fillet brazed gold-plated one as well, at least in the advert.
Nice to see a proper value put on my bike (?!) I'd of course say that mine is worth more as it has more Lambert parts - RD & FD, shifters, pedals (gold) and toe clips and straps (red Lambert). Must add at least another $1k :-)

What would be your best guess at how many were made?
Is it the true that these gold plated ones went into retailers to draw people in and to sell the rest of the range?

Interesting thread. I note that many people say they have one, and will produce photos but then they don't materialise. Except Cusqueno's
