Hi all, just a quick query before I waste more time in the garage. Has any one tried fitting a triple chain set on the standard Sport bottom bracket axle? I have a gash Stronglight triple sitting in the box of "come in handy" bits, and thought it a good way to get lower gears for DFR2. Is the Viscount axle ISO or JIS taper? I suspect JIS. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Pete.

Hi. This is my third attempt to reply. I don't know where the previous two have disappeared to.
Busaste told me that early Viscount bb spindles (with three circlip grooves) have a 'b*st*rd' ISO taper. (In case a censor stopped my posts.) later, two groove spindles, were JIS.

Thanks for that info, much as I suspected. My two bottom brackets are 2 circlip types. As the Stronglight cranks are beyond their first flush of youth,I may fit them anyway. I will obviously have to remember to bring the 14mm socket spanner for DFR2. Cheers' Pete.
