...I have a hole in the top of the seat tube and I'm not sure what to fill it with...

If it's an aerospace frame, typically that's 26.8mm in diameter. Something like this would do nicely: 26.8 mm seatpostHave fun! Frank

Wow! Something like that would certainly 'do nicely'. SR Laprade posts can often be found somewhat cheaper and were often used by Viscount.
But 26.8mm is right for Aerospace frames.

Well, I understand, but every bike ought to have at least one Campy component on it. Mine has DT shifters, which, I admit were quite a bit more affordable. Anyway, it was just a suggestion... Frank

So , is the 600 ex an aerospace frame ? Yes. But have you checked the seat pin you have in it now? They usually have the dia stamped on.

I don't think its anywhere near the correct size as the slot in the tube where the bolt goes through is completely closed , I'm sure this is not correct .

I tried to get the seat post out of my 600ex on Saturday, only to find it is stuck. This is despite use of grease whenever I took it out. But obviously I haven't done that for a long time. Good to know anyway, now I can try to free it and confirm that it is 26.8mm I also had a look in the shed for 26.8mm posts and I've got two or three Viscount ones - but I'm guessing you wouldn't want one of those - and one SR one that is quite nice - aero so you go faster. However, it's not particularly long. Have you an idea of what length you need? I am going to Bognor every weekend because my mother is in hospital in Chichester so I could easily meet you to hand it over, if it's suitable.

I brought my digital caliper home to measure what I have and it's not as small as I thought 26.6 .

I got one of the Kalloy posts from this page for my Sport: hilarystone.com/seatposts.htmlIt's not proper old-school with the seat guts but a nice light tube in a range of sizes and not very expensive.
