If so, would you mind dropping me a pm to discuss something that is way beyond me?
In short, the issue is this... this web site is free, and the adverts it shows raise revenue for ProBoards who host it.
If I pay some relatively low monthly fee, then I think we can host more photo's in larger sizes etc- but more than that, it allows you to put adverts on and raise the money from it.
This thought crossed my mind when we came to organise this years DFR3 - If I had raised money from adverts this year, we could have used it for food/beer/camp fees for the Rally. However, I don't know if it would make a profit?
I know the numbers that come to the site etc but not sure how that would translate to cash, and therefore if it is worth it. And then if it is worth it, how to go about it.
Any general thoughts or specific help appreciated

I did work in IT before retirement, but have been out of the loop for some time. Here's my take:
I don't think you have the number of "eyeballs" that you would need to pull in significant advertising.... and I think the ad revenue would not cover the monthly hosting cost, not to mention setting up and running the board software... even if its freeware like vbulletin.
IMHO, your only option might be a subscription model, but w/ something less than 100 registered users?? Not a lot to be made there.
The site seems to run smoothly ..... I might leave well enough alone.
Just my 2 pence.... others may be more knowledgable

I'd agree with the above. If it ain't broken ...
Not that I'm experienced with that sort of thing, but I'm pretty sure they only pay pennies and you need hundreds of visitors a day to start getting results.

It's not so much that it's broke, it's just that by paying a small fee, you the have the choice to take ads off the site completely or replace with revenue generating ones for the site. And as for the numbers, I know it looks like a handful of people but an average day see between 700-800 page requests, and the lowest it's been in the last few months is a couple of days when it was between 200-300 page requests. Crazy but true. If I knew about the advert code cut & paste business then I would risk paying a small monthly fee to see if the site generates enough to pay that fee and then a bit on top for Viscount related ventures; such as Death Fork expenses, team jerseys ,and the setting up of a new Viscount factory ( ok, the last one is not a realistic goal ) but you get my point? If I knew about the adverts on web sites I'd have a go I think.
