Some of you will have seen this bike up for sale and probably drooled at it from afar? It's already been nick named the 'Mojave Special' by Triitout
Well anyway, I contacted the seller and asked if he'd tell me a little about the history of the bike and if he'd mind me putting some pictures up on this forum.
The owner is Noel and he has given permission for me to display the pictures.
He also gave me the back story to the bike, which in itself is interesting, and I will copy and paste pretty much verbatim below.
In my opinion the bike will sell itself in that condition- it literally is showroom or as close to as you would ever get.
The photo's are also superb - not only technically well done but also aesthetically pleasing too. Not many people can take good photographs of bikes I have found.
Noel has pointed out he would be willing to ship abroad, if the buyer were to pay the appropriate fees. I wish he hadn't said that as it does now make me need to go and check my Paypal account, and then look around for a few things to sell,it's so tempting!
Anyway, here's Noel's words and pics. Many thanks Noel! Good luck with the sale- that bike is quite spectacular!
I got the bike from a friend of mine, James , 77 years old, he bought it brand new in the early 70`s he dosen`t remember if it was for him or his kids ,at that time he was a pilot for United Airline, that`s what attracted him to buy the bike since he was made of aerospace grade metal . He says it was very expensive !
Anyway, for unknown reasons he never tried it or used the bike ,he stored it in is garage in Palmdale ,CA , near the Mojave desert, were it remained for 40 years .
He recently decided to clean the garage and wanted to thrown it away but give it to me !! And this is how I got the bike!
It is now sitting in my living room and it is for sale ,it is brand new ,never used ! near showroom condition !
I am willing to send it overseas providing the buyer paid for the shipping .
please let me know .
thank you for having a web site about this fabulous bicycle.
