It might not be the bike you were hoping for but it is certainly big news....I'm just mulling over the implications of a new Viscount.

Hmmm, I'd be amazed if the Chinese manufacturer has even heard of our Viscount.

Well, I don't want to speak too soon, but it could be a 're-birth', but just not the kind we would choose if we had our way.

Hmmm. Looks like the Viscount name being used in the same generic way that a name like "Acme" or "Regal" or "Champion" might. Looks like the bastard child of an MTB and a mamachari. Still, if it gets people off their fat arses and out on a bike, it's a good thing. b

The lawyerly side of my nature came out when I saw that and I found myself on the Intellectual Property Office website checking to see whether "Viscount" is still registered as a trade mark in the UK: www.ipo.gov.uk/types/tm/t-os/t-find/tmtext.htmBecause if it's not - well, maybe we ought to be buying it between us? I haven't even had a beer yet.

City Lady needs to go on our list then. Pint ladies bike = almost thief proof, ideal for pub and town. Quite a nice bike if it had a better looking saddle.

I'd need a smiley with its eyes bulging out.
Nice little pub and city bike for the ladies. :-)

You wouldn't want to ride that bike for a pint in a pub on Canal Street Manchester!!!! Cheers, Pete.

Or along any canal dotted with pubs, for that matter.

I was in correspondence with the seller of the City Lady with an eye on potential purchase for Catherine whilst on our hols next week.
She's gone for a new bike instead (non Viscount - for now).
I've heard from the seller today to say that the City Lady has sold in a happy reunion with a previous owner who had an accident on it, sold it to a guy who repaired it and sold it to the seller, who has now sold it back to the previous 'crash' owner....lovely.
FOUR...DAYS...TIL...DEATH-FORK!!!!!!
