First of all apologies for not being as active for a few days; my friend was here for a visit and since the weather was so great (still is) we were out all day and evenings. As you know I've built her a bike, although it's not ready yet, due to unforeseen obstacles. It's the first time I built a bike with new parts (forks which needed cutting down), a different bottom bracket (screw-in Shimano BB UN55 in 122mm after the 118 failed with the SR Apex crank set) and there were other tiny things, like the brake levers. I'll get it sorted now, get a new handlebar, etc. The bike in the picture was basically in a not-read-yet state. And I know the gear cable's too short, I put on the wrong end I cut. lol And the stickers (bands on seat tube) are a bit off. Will rectify this problem, too. You can already tell, though, that this bike will be a stunner once everything's in place. The hubs are Zenith with cartridge bearings. Those are the hubs I build the wheels I'm selling with. Rather pretty, if you ask me. Attachments:

Lovely! I've never seen a yellow Viscount before. And those hubs are tasty. I've never seen them before either. b

Thank you. I've taken some more pictures (of course they're too big for this forum. Grumble! Will add them to the blog now.) and the bike for a spin today. Tell me whatever you want, but nothing beats a Viscount press-fit BB. Hubs are Zenith with sealed bearings. Polished alloy with 36 holes on polished Rigida polished alloy hubs. I think they look perfect if one doesn't have Viscount hubs. Post updated, pictures at the bottom. theviscountaffect.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/the-before-and-after-truly-stunning.html

Thank you. I've taken some more pictures (of course they're too big for this forum. Grumble! Hi Stella - I just had a look at the photo settings on the forum, but I can't change them. The reason for that is that the forum is free and they limit our storage and hence photo size etc. I think I mentioned before but I will look into how much it costs to upgrade. I can probably then pay to take off the adverts too and insert 'our' adverts that would make a revenue and make it pay for itself. I have asked on the Proboards help forum, how many visitors on average you need to make the adverts pay for the bigger storage. People who do it seem to think we would break even, but I haven't got around to it yet. On a more pressing note , we have reached about 40% of our total storage so far. This is use when people upload a photo directly to here rather than to another host and then link. So, leave it with me , I will report back.

I was just excited to upload pictures and it didn't work. I've got no problem to upload onto my blog. Seriously. Don't go through that length just for some photos. This forum is great as it is, I'm just grumbling for the sake of grumbling. lol

Really, really lovely Stell. If a mate gave me a bike like that (imagining for a moment that I wasn't already a Viscount fan) I would be blown away. Really surprisingly how good the yellow looks. Is that an original Viscount colour? b

Cheers, guys. Although it's not ready yet. I'll get her a new handlebar, need to do some fine-tuning on gears and fiddle with the brakes, mirror polish all parts (the pedals were just on for riding purpose, she'll get other ones) put on shiny yellow vinyl handlebar tape and off it goes. Not too happy about the BB as I don't think it's actually a British thread. It's not wobbling or so, but something ain't right. Over time, I believe, it needs a threadless BB.
Bendo: I don't know what the original colour of the taxi yellow Viscounts are, but this one is RAL 1003, I think. The pictures don't even pay justice-the colour in real daylight is amazing. Some sort of vibrant dirty yellow.
And as you can tell: I'm not the right person to put decals on. lol First time ... I'm so glad Steve did mine for the red flash. The rally bike, however, I have to do myself, so expect the unexpected. Upside down or whatever...
