A clean bike is reason enough for a photo shoot I reckon. b

Youse must be all up having a cuppa on Sunday morning and checking the forum. A few minutes ago there was no-one online, and now there's all the usual suspects.
Me, I'm off to bed. My Sunday's already over; work tomorrow! :,( b

Just downed my caffeine fix to start Sunday. Your photo of the Victor is a nice way to start the day. Are the hammered fenders Velo Orange? Last week I started to think about my next Viscount project and its to create something along the lines of the Victor dressed up as a touring bike. I'm imagining the color as a deeper burgundy color with tan leather saddle and handlebar tapes. Just the opposite of the Kiwi single speed. More classic, British style. Now I just need the right bike. My work location changed and I'm entertaining bicycle commuting. It's a mere 10 miler but the routes available are "fair" and it's a tight fit with sunset times to get in before dark. Got to wait for those longer days.

Great looking bike! I don't think you ever need an excuse to post pictures of that.
I've never used that pump placement

The mudguards are Honjo, much, much better than VO. Fortunately you have a supplier on your continent: www.jitensha.com/eng/fndrs_e.htmlAnd of course I love the sound of your new project... b

Great looking bike! I don't think you ever need an excuse to post pictures of that. I've never used that pump placement I nicked the idea from the Peter Weigle, who often puts pump pegs on the non-drive side seat stay. It leaves all the main tubes clear for bottle cages and carrying. The cheapy Zefal pump just happens to wedge in their so nicely that I completely forget it's there. b

Naet and tidy looking bike, Bendo.
Are there many hills where you are?
I note you run single chainrings. I've just been out on the 5-speed Sport and, as I often do, ran out of gears (and puff!!) on our local Pennine hills.
Both my Viscounts are pretty much original and I'd prefer to keep them that way, so I'll have to take the low routes out of town on them.
I do, however, have a 'Team '82' frame, so may equip that with the ultra-low gears needed to climb the hills around here.
Regards,
Sprockit

That is such a great bike, with a lovely mix of old and new components. And - as I might have said before - a great garden fence for a backdrop too.

I know it a little bit, although it's more than ten years since I was there.

Hi Goldie, Yes I'm here in Long Island, NY, USA. Lots of car traffic and potholes but still some very nice riding to be had. Not even a single Viscount sighting on the road. Hope you enjoyed your visit

Bendo, this is a deliciously looking bike. A proper commuter, but one that has style. One can tell it belongs to someone who loves his bike. :-)

Thanks Stell. Yeah it doesn't take much to make sure the top of your packrack is actually horizontal, but you know, you'd be surprised how many people don't bother! Even fewer bother to line up the brand on the sidewall of tyre next to the valve... Is that being 'Pro' or just OCD? You be the judge. b

My bikes have all their brands with the valve lined up. 1. because I'm anal and 2. because I'm anal, and 3. for the very reason Stoatie stated. Oh and my hub logos are lined up with the valve hole when I build wheels. Did I mention I'm anal?
Nevertheless, your bike looks lovely and I'd love to take it for a spin. Just been out with the red flash and enjoyed it very much. And I've taken pictures, too. It's dirty, though.
