Just thought I would share this. Until maybe 5 years ago, I would cycle a bit all winter long and then plenty more in spring and summer The last 5 or 6 years , I have cycled less and less in winter to the point of rides of any distance being counted on one hand between November and March. As a consequence of this (and maybe getting older?), when I start riding again in the spring, I find all of my saddles uncomfortable to various degrees, and this year even worse. After hours of moving the saddle and handlebar height small amounts at a time, and then for' and aft' - then swapping out a saddle for another , I finally decided to look for something different. To cut a long story short, I bought this Selle SMP Trek (I since found out that Selle's UK distributer does a saddle swap scheme if you want to try various styles). Result = heaven. I've done just over 35 miles on it , in 3 separate rides and it hits the sweet spot (or doesn't hit the sweet spot, if you get my meaning?). I must admit that I don't have the patience for 500 miles to break in a Brooks leather , and then to remember to take a plastic shopping bag to put over it when I park up away from home if it rains. It's true that saddles are all about individual preference , and no two riders are the same - but I can highly recommend this. Screenshot 2023-05-11 at 18.14.19 by

Good choice! Late last Fall I put one of these in my everyday bike after researching “best bike saddle following prostate cancer treatment”. I believe it was rated number 1. So far it’s working out very well. Another favorite of mine is the TFI Liberator, the male version of the Terry saddle line. A couple of decades old, I still snap up this deep cutout saddle when they are on eBay. I have maybe a half dozen of these. I still have one Brooks Pro that somehow works for me. Best, John “wheelson”

My search for the perfect saddle has been a long and expensive quest; you guys have given me yet another couple of saddles to try. My search is never ending and difficult; over the years (dare I say changes due to my old age) my weight and riding position change. This results in what once was a comfortable saddle becoming uncomfortable, and vice versa. A most notable example is the Brooks Cambium C17 Carved. When I was forty pounds heavier I liked the saddle, now it feels like a Brooks Imperial that will never break in. I have three of these saddles in new or nearly new condition. If any of you would like to give one a try let me know; perhaps we can work something out.
Cheers Jim

Interesting Jim, when I was a stone and a half heavier, I didn't have any saddle issues either. I could jump on any of my bikes and do some miles without a thought of the saddle. - so weight alone wasn't a factor in my saddle pain. Although I guess with loss of weight comes loss of some muscle ? And with age comes loss of elasticity/flexibility
For a while I was looking at the Brooks Cambium C17 carved , as I liked the weather-proof nature of them and they get good reviews. If I were closer, out of interest I would try one, but postage would be way too high to make it viable, and I feel like my quest for saddle heaven is over now.
