EDIT - not only did I measure these wrong, I even used the wrong photos for the Superbike! SO..the Deore measure 22" (and to be dead accurate , it's 221/4 from centre of crank to the top of the top bar in a straight line. The Superbike is 21.5" and the picture I had up is the 'old one' that I sold ages ago. Please see new pics (will be up soon, just deleting loads off my Flickr account as they have a limit on there that is a bother) And now I have to out of the shed, I recall I has the original pump and Milremo saddle and it is looking magnificent in the sun today! I started to doubt the measures when Kev said he was 23.5" and they would fit, as I stood next to Kev, and remembered we are not the same size for a bike. These are much loved bikes but don't really get near enough use to warrant keeping them.
The SupaBike, that most Viscount people know, and the the Deore 18AX with racks etc. ,
I'd much prefer collection, as my days of cardboard boxing up bikes is long over. But we can discuss couriers if they take 'as is', which some do
And as an incentive to buy and keep them within the Viscount Family, I will include in the sale (if a buyer takes both bikes) the Yamaha Replacement fork for the Death Fork, with all paperwork and headset etc , never used. All the recall notices and voucher for a LBS to fit it for free.
And if you buy both/or just the Deore, you can have the Cyclist magazine that was released at the time with a superb review of the Deore 18AX in it (as seen in pics).

So sad and hard to do. I think it easier to just buy this jersey.
Cheers Jim

In the words of Shakespeare, "Et tu Jem?" It's a good thing I don't live in the UK. I hope you find them good homes. The "Mojave GP" only goes out once or twice a year to keep her looking pretty. Is it time to let go? NNNNNOOOOOO!

Well, I'll still have 4 Viscount, and a couple of others when these are gone - so I don't feel too bad about it.
I hope someone here is interested as I dont want to go to eBay with them.

That AX will make a brilliant practical classic for someone.

That AX will make a brilliant practical classic for someone. It's a good solid performing bike. In fact, it was the only one i rode for a couple of years.

If you can think of a guide price for the AX, I’ll see if anyone from my bike club is interested Jem.

Cheers Kev - I will have a think. I had a price in mind for both , with fork etc. It would just make it easier for both to go at same time, but will give it a while, see if anyone is interested and then think about splitting

Ok, so had a think and would look for £550 for both together , with fork etc. With a £50 discount for anyone on here who wants it, before I go to some other sites and ebay etc So, someone here can take all of them for £500
I had a look at the World Tourer that was on eBay, that went for £120 and the Deore Ax is a far superior bike, and has the front and rear Showa racks, and relatively new tyres on mine. It's £160 anyday of the week.
The SupaBike/Superbike is hard to value, except to say the black Dura Ace components (although not totally 100% complete) are valuable to the vintage collector. And for an enthusiast it's a very rare bike, so I'd look to be getting £350 on it's own. By the way, that bike rides like a dream of a racer, it's 'Aeropace Pro Plus!'. I owned one other Superbike frame and it wasn't in as good condition as this one. It's totally original chrome work on it.
Then once I throw the fork in, it becomes quite a good bargain?
If you know anyone who wants the Deore Kev, say you can get it for £140 on it's own as you're a forum member. But I really don't want to box them up.
NB- saddles wouldn't be included , but I am sure I can find something to put on there if they need one.
EDIT NO , apologies, buyer could have the black , original 'rat-skin' Viscount saddle as seen in pics (I have since changed to a Brooks leather, which I will keep) And I loaned the Velo-Orange tourer saddle to my son who had it stolen in London - I cant recall what's on there at the moment, I think a Charge Spoon possibly , which I also like, so will find something suitable

Very reasonable prices Jem. I’ve posted the AX on my classic bike friends group. I wish I had room myself.

23.5” is my size Jem. I’m assuming we will find a way to get to yours if someone buys it. No guarantee I’ll find a buyer sadly.

I'll take some better photos next week when I clear the shed out, and then after that I think I'll have to take them to eBay - so if anyone is interested , drop me a line, might be able to reduce price a bit more to save from the hassle of eBay

Jem, your Viscount Supa is quite pristine. I hope the pseudo-Supa I’m building up rides as well as you described yours. Does yours have the the Version 3 fork? I’m about 90 percent done with mine. I got it in a lot of Viscount parts, fortunately a black Viscount headset and black hubs, but no black Dura Ace (which I already had). It’s already becoming one of my favorites, whoever gets yours will be lucky indeed. Best, John “wheelson”

It's the alloy fork with the 'plug' up inside the tube. Not sure what version that is called? (2?) Is 3 the steel one?
EDIT-Now thinking about it, maybe it's version 3, as version 2 was the one with pins through?

It was my understanding that the type 3 was the only one with the steel plug and generally considered “safe”. I have two of this type, but each is slightly different in how the pinning was done: one very neat, the other rather clunky looking as perhaps an intermediate fix. Yours is the neat tidy version. Are those sprint (sewup, tubular) rims on yours? I found a pair of Birmalux sprint rims and built those up with the black hubs. My first experience with sprints, with me luck! Best, John “wheelson”

I am nothing like a bike a mechanic by any stretch of the word, but managed with not too much swearing , so I am sure you'll be fine John - it was quite a few years back (probably 2015?), so I cant recall anything in the way of tips for you

I’ll be using the tape rather than glue. I really don’t plan on riding them that much. I’m just doing it for the experience after 60 plus years of riding. I’m not a racer, never was. I’m already into long cage derailleurs and low gears! Best, John “wheelson”
