This happened in nearby Bakersfield. While riding, I have been attacked by dogs, but this is a bit more dangerous.

In the UK there has been a revision to the Highway Code, a little book describing for all road users how the law requires them to behave ('must' do) and what they 'should' do. The revision for the first time establishes a hierarchy of users. For instance, at road junctions, motorists and cyclists must give way to pedestrians wanting to cross the road. Motorists must not overtake cyclists and then cut across them (the infamous hockey stick manoeuvre) &c. Horse riders are on a par with pedestrians. I wonder where unaccompanied bulls would sit in this hierarchy? My feeling is that they should certainly give way to cyclists ...
