An idea: is there anyone in the community who has the connections or skills to 3D print some pedal dustcaps?
I was thinking for the sake of simplicity and cheapness not to try and recreate the red V logo, but to make them in a single colour (silver) and perhaps just the "V" device in low relief, like the "MKS" on their dustcaps.
They would be useful and serviceable for everyday use. You wouldn't have to stress if one popped off because there's an easy supply of replacements. And you can keep the real ones for your DFR or Eroica, if you have them.
What do people think? Anyone with that kind of fabrication expertise? Who was the chap who machined his one Viscount chainrings? This would be a doddle for someone with those kinds of skills and nous.

Hi, haven't checked in here for a while. The chainrings I machined in 48T & 36T to match the aerospace design were done quite manually. I set up jigs and templates for many steps, & kept the blunders down. So quite far from any digital process. I may get involved in 3D printing, but have to get the 3D drawing skills first. For a start in 3D printing, I was thinking of making some nicer looking, lower profile brake 'boosters' for HS33 hydraulic calipers which are endlessly ugly. Although printing metal could be super expensive, and I'd go back to hand made.. Kind of a late reply.
