Some of you may have read of my misfortunes in other threads.I may,or may not, have learned from them. I've confessed elsewhere on here, who's next?I know that sounds like a '60's Album,Jem.But,we can all learn from others hard way. Cheers, Pete.

Well not sure if it's daft, but punctures always bring out the best in me...
The worst was recently, riding to work I had a puncture on my 650B. Not such a common occurrence because the big, soft tyres usually roll over things that would burst a HP tyre. Anyway fixed the flat (it was raining, natch). Found the thing that had done it: an inch and a half long nail! Reinstalled the wheel (rear; is it ever the front?). Inflated. Went down again. Bugger. Bad patching job. Did it again. Reinflated again. Still went down. Grrr. Rang work to tell them I'd be late. Patching for the third time (only two more patches left in the kit). Still wouldn't inflate. Heard a sound coming from near the first patch. Bugger me if it isn't a hole on the opposite side of the tube from the first! The bloody nail had gone right through the tube both sides!! Patch that up to find that I'd lost my presta-to-shrader adapter in the grass! Had to walk the bike about 3km to the nearest bike shop to buy an adapter. And a shitload more patches. And a coupe of new tubes.
Got to work an hour and a half late.

Bendo, another puncture on the old gas-pipe tandem, again in North Wales, over towards Ruthin I think. On a typical Welsh "gentle climb".The old rear wheel gag again, couldn't blame the over-weight stoker, she was only 9.Anyhow,got it sorted,a mile up the road, noticed something not right in the back pocket department.NO BLOODY WALLET!!!!Back down the hill, unlike you I did manage to find it,relief, money and bank card present and correct, phew.Up the hill again, loads of grief from rest of the club. Moral;-don't try to rush things 'cos you're holding people up,check you've got everything you had when you stopped. Cheers, Pete.
