First ride of the year. Brought out the Peugeot PX10 that I just completed. A bit of snow on the ground, but still a nice ride! The PX10 is a comfy old girl.
Happy New Year Jim

Nice job, Jim. That is a great looking bike. I was too wimpy to go out for a ride today. 37° and some puddles in the roads so I did a little prep work on indoor seed starting plans for the garden this year. I think you had more fun than I did.

That is a quite a difference between the 2 front rings Jim... does it ever pop off or present problems? Beautiful bike by the way - and Happy New Year!

That is a quite a difference between the 2 front rings Jim... does it ever pop off or present problems? Beautiful bike by the way - and Happy New Year! No problems; it works great! The Simplex SJA 102 specs at 14 teeth max difference. It has successfully been used with a 16 tooth difference. My crank is a 45/30 so I have a 15 tooth difference. On the rear the Simplex SX630 specs at 28 max wrap and a max cog of 28. With my 14-28 freewheel I have a wrap of 29. Therefore I exceed the wrap by 1; but it is not a problem. It is difficult to match modern compact gearing with vintage components. I think my self fortunate to find the parts for this combination.
So the old girl is living on the edge and slightly past her limits.
Cheers Jim
