I finished yet another bike; it is a New Albion Homebrew. Think SOMA (its sister company) or Rivendale for its philosophy. I started with a new frame (Tange #2) and built it for comfort not speed. The components are conservative, unremarkable, yet dependable. The only thing unusual are the Retroshift brake lever shifter combination. I originally bought them for an off road bike. I like them, but will most likely change them to downtube shifters. I have a set of hammer finish fenders (mud guards for the civilized) but have not installed them. Today was the test ride. What was it like? Much like a Viscount with funny shifters. Homebrew Promo Video
All the Best Jim

That’s a beauty Jim.
Did you get the parts polished professionally or have you got your own process?

Bravo Jim! Although it may be 'unremarkable', it would turn my head.

Sometimes when you have the right combination of parts, the result is greater than the sum of the parts. My initial build of this bike missed the mark. Now it is right on!
I swapped the drive train for a 1x9 setup. I used a derailleur hanger extender, a New Albion crankset with a single 42 Tooth chainring up front, and a 11-40 cassette in back. The New Albion was a triple. I removed the inner chainring and added a bash guard to the outer. The single 42 tooth chainring runs in the middle. I went with a 9 speed setup as I can use a stronger 9 speed chain. The parts work in perfect harmony and look great. The gearing is great and I love the bar end shifter. This bike is oh so smooth and very comfortable.

Wow Jim. That looks smart and sleek. Great colour scheme. Nice job, Jim. And don’t forget the very cool New Albion head badge. It and the whole bike is a work of art! Best, John “wheelson”

Best, John “wheelson” Ah yes the head badge. If you look close at the drive train picture, you will see that the badge logo is also etched on the crankarm. I just love stuff like that!
Thanks for the nice comments Jim
