Hi, I'm an aging ex-cyclist with and old Viscount and slightly younger Davidson cluttering up my garage. I purchased both new but I can't recall the year I got the Viscount nor it's exact model. I believe the link below will allow you to see the bike and I'm hoping someone can let me know the model. Serial number is 542447 and was purchased new in North Carolina, USA sometime in the late 70's or early 80's. Everything in the photos is original except the bolt-on bottle holder and the pump clip. I think the tires are a bit past their sell-by date. ) Decals were junk and fell-off so they're no help. Any info anyone can offer would be appreciated. Thx, bob www.flickr.com/photos/190191502@N04/shares/dF63MJ

Hi Bob - And welcome to the forum, glad you found us.
It's an Aerospace Pro. The frame number doesn't help to date it on a Viscount.
I'm going to guess at 75'-76', but others will perhaps give you a more reliable date. The best way , if the parts are original, is to find the date codes on them (often hidden from sight, but accessible) and then post them up here - but of you want to do it yourself, then the Shimano components dater is posted up on here somewhere , or I have it somewhere.
Are you still riding it? Jem

No, I quit riding when I started falling over sideways at stop signs. Friend is into recumbent trikes and is after me to give that a go.
I saw the Shimano date codes right after I posted my question so I'll give that a go.
Thx, bob

Very nice Pro. Always nice to shine some daylight on these basement queens. Hope it finds its way to a good home and gets back on the road. Too nice to part out.
We have a Viscount registry on the forum and you have a close match #25 on the list, 542197 belonging to Cusqueno. Probably rolled off the line the same week!
