Well, despite my constantly saying I really can't/won't spend more, that Thame bike was too tempting since it was the small frame I was after (20 inches) and 20.5 inches seat tube). And the seller let me haggle a bit, so I got it for 15 quid and the 23 for the journey to pick it up. Bike was in a poor condition: quite a bit of rust, brakes basically non-existing (didn't grip at all, far too loose), steel rims, dent in top tube, etc., forks are a bit pitted, but I rode it home from Marylebone (as you do with such a bike in London's traffic) with rather flat tyres preventing me from going too fast. lol I guess I was quite the sight on the tiny bike. Well, here's how it looks like now: It's an Aerospace frame with the front lugged and the rear fillet brazed, but no indication if it's been a Victor or Sebring. My guess is that's one of those bikes thrown together in the late days of Trusty, very odd combinations. The other pictures need to be on the blog as I, again, can't upload due to size. This bike will be yellow (not for me), and I'll steal its handlebars with the red grips for my Indy.

I went past Thame last night on a Heathrow pick up and thought about this bike.
Those handlebars and grips look quite charming to me.
I'm sure you'll waive your magic wand over this Stella- looking forward to seeing the finished bike, and make sure you take a reaction shot of your friends face when the bike is presented...

I hope she won't find out beforehand as she's sneaking a look at this board or my blog every now and again. She wants a yellow bike, so she'll get a yellow bike. Luckily, I've got my Sprints stuff lying around, doing nothing, so if the BB fits, I'll put that on, plus the other parts. She'll get alloy bars, though. My idea is yellow and blue, or yellow and black, not sure yet. I want to present it to her when she comes in two weeks' time and she'll get a pair of new wheels, built by my very own hands, too. :-) She may shed some tears, or maybe it's me who'll cry. Whatever, I just want to thank her for being such a great friend. Pictures now up on my blog: A poorly Viscount in surgery
