Our members are located throughout the world and I can't help but wonder where they live and where they ride. I am starting this thread as a place to share those places. I will start with providing a link to drone footage (of the area around my home) in Bear Valley Springs, California. The video was made by one of my neighbors.
We have a herd of bull elk. This crude footage shows (not made by me) shows them well. The lady elk are in harems in our more remote areas. Only the strongest bulls have a harem. Lesser bulls hang out in our valley.
I hope you enjoy the links and post some of your own.
Cheers Jim

Hey Jim, What great idea! Really nice videos you posted. Amazing how close you are to real wildlife. Beautiful country on the drone view.
Over here in Long Island it ranges from suburban sprawl to beaches to North Shore estates and horse farms. Here's a short video of our most popular Jones Beach bike path on Long Island's south shore. Even though it's flat, the wind can be like riding up a virtual hill.
The north shore of Long Island has the real hills and beautiful light traffic roads and are very popular riding spots. Here's a flyover video that gives a taste.
I'm half way between the north and south shore so I've got some nice variety!
How about some UK members joining in??!!
Cheers, Michael

Michael, thanks for the input. I would love to ride that nice bike path! Kings Point looks great; so green!
We need some more folks to join in.

I'll bite! Paste this into Google Maps: www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.1217561,-2.0456014,20018m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en Now zoom in and explore (from left) Ribblesdale, Wharfedale and Nidderdale, dropping into Streetview now and again. God's Own County.

Very nice! I was drawn to gorgeous Yorkshire Dales National Park. I found a link to some drone footage; riding there must be a pleasure.
Cheers Jim

Just keeping the thread alive. The 2019 Eroica California will be held in Cambria California. Cambria is on the beautiful Central California coast and along the very scenic Pacific Coast Highway. Big Sur is just to the north. I plan to attend, but who knows? Enjoy the videos.

Nice to see the Jones Beach video Michael. Brings back memories from the late 80’s.

Ha ha :-) One of the trip objectives was to have a rum and raisin ice cream in every county I passed through.

During the Heart of England Cycling Club's ride out last Wednesday from Shipston-on-Stour to Burford and back, through the Cotswolds (the setting for the long-running BBC radio play "The Archers"), we passed St. Michael’s parish church at Lower End, Leafield, Witney, Oxfordshire, with its entrance gate roof 'yarn bombed' with knitted poppies in preparation for next week's commemoration of the centenary of end of the first World War. Nothing like the views of the boys from the US. Yep quite jealous. Great posts enjoying them all Richard Latest One JimI think its my best effort yet but a bit dodgy riding it on the streets around town!

These are some photos from my ride to work. Sorry if it's a bit like a tourist trip, but this is what I see every day. I love architecture and the historic architecture in your area is fantastic. California, being much younger, and the fact that old buildings do not meet current earthquake standards, our architecture would be called Brutalist in the UK. The best example of early architecture in California (in my opinion) is the Santa Barbara mission Tourist Video Santa Barbara Mission Drone Footage SB Mission
The old missions have been reinforced with steel, so they now stand a chance in an earthquake. Many of our older buildings have been demolished, as upgrading to modern earthquake standards exceeded the value of the property.
