I know this is primarily a US issue, but does anyone have info on the chrome replacement forks provided to owners of DF Viscounts?
I recall that they were Tange forks and at least some.... if not all, came without fender eyelets. Were they simply Hi-Ten steel? Or maybe Cro-Moly?
Edit: Just a follow-up. Looks like the forks are some kind of Hi-Ten steel, based on the weight (~1.85 lbs.) No matter, because the chrome finish is corroded & bubbled. Won't be using them

I have one of those Tange forks, it's quite nice and looks to be chrome-moly just because we didn't see many Tange forks with forged dropouts and hi-ten steel. I've also seen Viscounts with some replacement Tange forks that were obviously hi-ten, so there you have it.
Best regards, Frank
