Saw a Motorcycle get hit today, the rider flew off, oh about maybe 5 feet or a little less; he's probably okay but he was wearing no helmet.
I was among the first at the scene, no boasting about being a do-gooder, someone phoned the ambulance in; and an ambulance came and got him.
How it happened I think was the motorcycle was in the turning lane and the pickup truck in the center lane must have just clipped the motorbike somehow. So, the speeds of these vehicles were probably relatively low and it was at a traffic light.
But the rider largely was dazed, I think his fairly modern Kawasaki took a bit of a dent in the gas tank, lime green-coloured motorcycle mostly. The rider did inspect his own motorbike. Otherwise, no noticeable cosmetic damage.
He sat down upon awaiting for the ambulance, the ambulance I saw arrive but I said in a rather loud voice "Wear a helmet" leaving on my bike; then, I went on about 2 times today on my bike and saw motorcyclists not wearing helmets.
Conceivably, it would not have taken much to make this accident a lot worse per not wearing a helmet.
Conceivably too, after such a sudden jilt, the rider would need to be checked over pretty closely though he looked okay, I'm not sure if I even saw a scratch on him but I didn't really get into the situation.

I never felt so good as to know I always wear a helmet; practically speaking. If the weather is extremely cold as I have biked in such, perhaps I opt out for a very warm hat. Even then, the helmet does seem to fit over most of my winter caps.

Out and about, I saw a gentleman on a nice old British motorcycle; I got to talking to him about it, a 1938 BSA motorcycle, lovely. He wasn't wearing a helmet either but I wasn't going to get into a discussion on that with him.
In town, riding a motorbike, I think there is a large degree of safety without a helmet. I just wouldn't push my luck too much, a scooter? Etc.
1938 BSA, it had the license plate fixture on the front mudguard as well: www.vintagebike.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/1938-bsa-m24-gold-star-1-942x570.jpg Very much like this one. It was running very well.

Dedicated bike trail like it looks like at the DFR 4; those seem pretty safe without a helmet, I do have to say that. I've really gotten into the habit now of always having my helmet on.
