If you have been reading the threads on the 'for sale' board and then the 'Dura Ace bits n bobs', then you might know that I was going to pick up a bike today. It was a good couple of hours drive each way to The Lakes, and that was compounded by traffic jams on the way back. But as you will see from the pictures below, the destination was worth the drive. Michael , the seller, was more than happy to chat about the bike and his ownership of it. He has done a number of tours on it and considerable miles. Just had a little spin on it but by the time I got back it was too dark for any decent pics

Thank you for that very crisp high res image Cusqueno. I got home tonight and the sky had darkened over so much that taking photos of this bike outdoors wouldn't have done it justice.(and I was worried about it getting rained on - it lives in the living room at the moment...where else?) So here are a few indoor close ups showing some detail. For a Viscount enthusiast it is wonderful to get a bit closer to those brazed joints. I also really like this nice touch from the previous owner- to put silver brake cables on. I know the original were black but these seem a decent 'update'. Also in the pics you can see the scratches to the black components. Mk3 fork I think but haven't even taken the long mudguards off yet to get a closer look to see if it has the steel plug in there. By the way - the bike is normal size. In picture number 2 it looks like it might be 60foot tall, but it isn't , it's just a tiny road below. Gold in them there 'ills!
Great find Jem!
You'll be needing a trailer for the camper van to bring your collection of rare Viscounts to DFR4 so we can all ogle them!
Look forward to seeing the bike in the flesh.

You'd have to be some kind of ultra-minimalist to want all decals off your bike? The only one is the Trusty frame spec. one down the bottom of the seat tube IMG_0702 by Sooper 8, on Flickr

Sorry Lewis. But don't give up, there's plenty of treasure around if you search. It was up here on the forum for a couple of days before I made contact & arranged to buy.
