I put my current rides on pedal room; they can be found at www.pedalroom.com/members/OldRoadieTehachapiI know kickstandman has placed his bikes there. It will be fun if some more of our members were to do so as well. Cheers Jim

When browsing Pedal Room, I am saddened by the conversion of so many high end steel frames from their road configuration to single speed. The worst of it is they often saw the derailleur mount off the rear drop out. This pretty much makes the conversion irreversible.

Cheers Jim As I've said before, Pedal Room to me, seems real quiet per traffic. There are a lot of bike websites out there, I use to post at the bicycling.com (the magazine) forums, now, I can't even find forums there.

At least keep the rd hanger, and make it reversible. It's a bit of a hipster fashion of the moment. I think it's great that a new wave of people that might not be riding a bike , are getting into it, but I guess as with most fashions it will fade.

I like the Classic and Vintage section of Bike Forums as well as the Google Group Classic Rendezvous lightweight vintage bicycles.Good amount of traffic in both sites, but CR has a more limited focus. I just joined the Pedal Room.... may take a while for me to add my bikes.

I looked too; Anyway, if one likes some of the higher level Motobecanes as OT does, here is someone, he altered a Motobecane Grand Record but he actually did a good job on it in my book: columbus.craigslist.org/bik/5513790495.html Columbus, Ohio Craig's List. "1970s Motobecane Grand Record - $325 (Worthinton)" If the link doesn't come out, I think I will save the photos, some good ideas for a bike. It looks fabulous. Some places may have a great selection, it seems Columbus has real good bargains, he pin striped the lug too in white, it looks okay, points for being creative and taking chances. This is one great deal, I wouldn't want to add on to costs with shipping but by itself, worthwhile. That is twine on the top tube? It looks okay I guess.

The Grand record was a fine bike, usually having a Reynolds 531 frame. I do not know why there is twine on the top tube; style I guess.
Cheers Jim
