All this is still subject to the farm/camp site ok'ing my last mail- but if it works out then there is no pub within walking as last year ( well, there is a pub but maybe 30 mins walk across fields, 20 via road without pavement). The barrel & food idea sounds great to me though. Fingers crossed they are happy with us taking over the site.

If we get to be based at this site, I'll certainly be having a go at the cliff!

Should I bring my soap box racer for a fun run down the hill? Mind,it is a tad titchy in side and doesn't contain any Viscount parts, yet! Cheers, Pete. Perhaps we could somehow attach the full beer barrel for extra downhill speed! On second thoughts, maybe not . . . wouldn't want to spill the beer.

A bit disappointing but it doesn't look like our first choice camp site will go ahead. The minimum for them at that time of the season (&for us to exclusively book the site for 2 nights) would be more than most people would willing to pay I think. I don't really want to put the £ numbers up on here but unless we have a big surge ( double what we have) then we need to look elsewhere. The next issue , even if we don't book the whole site & just pre book as individuals , is that it is peak season & at weekends they only allow 2 night stays - ie , even if you don't stay Friday you have to book and pay for it to get the Saturday camp. Also , the death knell is that the extra cars on Saturday would have to pay parking. So, all in all, a bit of a bugger. Back to the drawing board.

Some folk are just a bit greedy! Cheers, Pete.

I'm away at the minute but will sort this next week when I'm off. Ps in Dublin at the moment - saw a guy pushing a battered old Viscount folder down O'Connell Street this morning!

Okay, I've booked for two nights. Great news! If you can't make the two nights (or don't want to stay both nights) then you need to link up with another person who is in the same boat and swap the pitch when you do a 'hand-over'. The reason for this is that they don't allow a one night stay at weekends in the high season - but when I spoke to them, they are ok with it, if they know the pitch will be taken for both nights regardless of the whether it is the same person (this was one of the concessions I got from them). I hope this makes sense?

Jem: I'd like to stay two nights. Unless there's an emergency with the iguana at home, which I doubt. It's like a short holiday for me. :-)
Kev, given the (small) amount we drank last year, I guess one barrel will be enough. You can always bring two, though ... just in case. ha ha

Reminder - you need to put my name in the bottom box that says 'where did you hear about us?' if you want to camp in the same area , next to each other. He is saving a block for a while for us, I gave him rough numbers.
Are you bringing Lewis up with you Stoatie?

Here is the start and end point for the ride on 11th July. www.beehivefarm-woodlandlakes.co.uk/index.htmlParking for those driving to event but not camping is in the car park on the entrance path to camp site (so follow signs for camp site, and approach as if you were going in, then car park is on your right).

I'm looking forward to this. Should be a nice relaxing weekend.
I've been posting up on CTC too but I think the numbers are looking about the same as last year. Although I have been offering to loan my spare Viscount to cycling friends for the day to see I can get any new faces along for it.

Once again I've been neglecting the forum - soz.
Haven't booked yet but I will soon - still ironing out the fine details of getting there.
