I have got some more photos from the seller - why he hasn't posted them I don't know. It is certainly a lugless frame. But it has an ordinary bottom bracket. Has Stronglight cranks of the 49d pattern (which could go some way towards recouping the price), but only a single chain wheel and hence five speeds. Both hubs and rims look alloy to me but I could be wrong. The rear hub looks like a newer replacement. Brakes (front one at least) are Polygon - a brand used by Viscount. Levers are not Viscount - Mafac? RD is an all steel job. Huret? I agree about a re-paint and non-original transfers/decals. Seller says stem & seat post are not stuck and that the main triangle is 60x60x55cm. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Headbadge looks to be a one-off, and the seat tube extends a short way above the top tube, so lots of non-standard stuff on this bike.

Just been looking at Stoatie's lovely work and notice the seat tube on his bike extends above the top tube, so is anything 'standard Viscount'?

Some kind of 'team', race or cyclo-cross bike?

The seat tube extension is quite long but this feature seems a bit variable. The use of braze ons for the seat tube clamp, rather than a separate chromed band clamp, suggests an early frame.
