Looking to put a Crane back on the road ... I could do without these, but does anyone have a spare cable adjuster, or metal pulleys, that they'd part with? Thanks, Rod

Being in the USA it might be a bit difficult to get parts over to GB right now, but I'd try for any of the forum members if all else fails. Don't know if you're aware, but the Shimano Titlist and Tourney derailleur parts will mostly interchange with the Crane. That includes the long pulley cage, although only the Crane is aluminum, the others are steel.

Thanks John, I think you're right about the interchange on the cable adjuster (parts from the Lark, Skylark, Altus, 500, 600 and Arabesque probably fit too). I've noticed the early Cranes didn't have the adjuster, so it's not essential I guess. I believe the part number is Shimano 524 0400-1 and looks like this ... www.geosagiew.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=47546The metal pulleys only appeared on the later Cranes as far as I can tell, so my options there are a lot more limited ...

Here is my collection of Crane RDs (at least the ones that aren't on bikes). Betrays my squirrel ancestry. I would be reluctant to dispose of bits of them I'm afraid. As others have said, many Shimano mechs of about the same period should have interchangeable small parts. Crane derailleurs by John Cockaday, on Flickr
