Do you happen to know if the generic (MKS) ones fit - plastic or metal? I know they work on Campy and Zeus (for those of us that have Olimpic-64's) ...

Do you happen to know if the generic (MKS) ones fit - plastic or metal? I know they work on Campy and Zeus (for those of us that have Olimpic-64's) ... The Lambert / Viscount one-piece cast pedals have friction-fit caps, not threaded like the Olimpic-64s. That's why so many have disappeared! I think they put some sort of locking compound on them in the factory - when you remove a cap you usually see a brownish film on the bit that went into the pedal. Perhaps someone has a fix that will keep the caps in place? - I've thought of drilling through the cap and pedal end and putting a pin in.

I have two sets on pedals but badged L for Lambert. I'd really like to find a pair badged for Viscount or the red V buttons to change one set. Anyone have an answer to this dilemma? This sounds like a good application for 3d printing, at least for the cap shell, anyway. As far as keeping them in place, I expect a Loctite product might be the answer. Best, John "wheelson" Wilson

John, I see Viscount pedal caps on the bay right now ... # 254849767092 ... very pricey, but if you made a sensible offer and no-one else buys, perhaps thd sdller will come round to the idea of what they're really worth. Hope this helps, Rod

I got a "special offer" from the seller who for a "limited time" will let them go for $40 less than the original $114.99. Keep an eye out for further reductions if sanity prevails.

Anyone here that couldn’t resist? What would be the tempting number? Inquiring minds want to know! Best, John “wheelson”

How about $30 for something a bit rough, or up to $50 for a pair of virgins?

Thanks, Rod. I was hoping I wasn't a sucker for the new ones that were listed on eBay and commented on above. Seems I was spot on for my accepted offer. These will go on my "pseudo Supa" that I hope to get together for (probably virtual) DFR9. Best, John "wheelson"

... I should have been clearer ... that was for the whole pedals not just the dust cap!

... I should have been clearer ... that was for the whole pedals not just the dust cap! No problem, I have 4 sets of dust cap-less Viscount pedals I got as screaming deals. So I splurged for 1 set of caps which I guess I can share from bike-to-bike for photo purposes. I dare not ride with them unless I epoxy them on, too jewel like! Seriously, I have some SR pedals I ride on because they fit my wider feet. You can see them on my blue “unknown” Viscount from an earlier post. Best, John “wheelson”

Ah, another curious coincidence ... I have SR pedals on my AP for everyday use ... the flat SR Silstar SP-11 "Eleven". Took me a while to find your flickr page, but that blue "unknown" is a nice build... where did you find decent hoods for the MA100's? Cheers Rod
