I took the Aerospace GP out to the Hopkinton (Massachusetts) State Park "proving grounds" to test my restoration over a 10-mile route. Neither the fork, pedals, or crank spindle snapped. The newly re-laced rear wheel will need some additional trueing and the seat post clamp needs more tightening. Otherwise it was a good ride. One thing of note - I am using the FK0024 chrome replacement fork discussed elsewhere on this board. It has slightly less rake than the aluminum death fork, hence a little more "trail", which makes for a very stable ride (look Ma, no hands). Alas, these forks seem to be no longer available. Here is the finished bike before its first coating of road grit:
Correction: This fork is available again:

Looking good Brian! I used the same color combo, white seat, red bar tape on my GP. Great minds think alike I've only ridden my Pro with the same new fork once and it a nice ride. I'm off the next 3 weeks at least due to the coronavirus outbreak and dental office shut down, and would normally take advantage and be riding. Working as a dentist in this environment would make riding a death fork look like a walk in the park. My lungs are still not back to normal from a tough winter of pneumonia and flu (not corona), so I can't risk it being over 65 now. Everybody be safe, wash your hands, social distance and bend the curve! Cheers, Michael

Brian - that is a stunner!!! Wow, I love it.
Hope everyone is keeping well ? I am off for the foreseeable future too. I'm not too well, but not sure if it's the virus but I am staying home for a while, then looking forward to some golf and bike riding and gardening!

Looks fantastic Brian, and I love the chain ring. What years/models were these fitted too?

Good job. I like the saddle - goes well with the bike colour scheme. I'm now working from home for an indefinite period. As I work for the government, there's plenty to do, just that it's not always clear what is most important. My normal job is about engaging with businesses, mainly small ones and their organisations. Being unable to meet anyone, and businesses being mainly concerned with survival at the moment, makes that challenging; but if we are to give targeted help it is essential. Rumours are around about London going into lock down from Friday, so might not even be allowed out on a bike - and I need to replace my daily commute with exercise some how! I hope I will be able to to some work on the bikes, now the days are longer, using some of that commute time.

Brian,
Absolutely beautiful Aerospace GP and sounds like you're quite pleased with the ride as well. Your work is motivating me to get busy on my two Viscount projects 1) the classic gray/black one which will in no way be mechanically correct but hopefully visually so and 2) the brushed chrome unknown that is so much like a Supabike that I will build it as such, complete with the type 3 death fork. Theoretically, I have more time now as I have taken absence from my part time bike shop gig. I say theoretically since my wife, a semi-retired registered nurse, is also off from her part time mostly elective dermatology job and will most certainly find a large number of house and yard related projects to interfere with the important bike related stuff!
So far we're able to get out here to walk or ride, I also have an indoor trainer to try to maintain some semblance of conditioning. Many of the businesses are closed here in Western Pennsylvania, USA. Restaurants are drive-thru or take out only. Malls, theaters, schools are closed, sporting events canceled. I'm 71 and have an autoimmune disorder, so I'm trying to avoid human contact as much as possible. My wife, a critical care RN before her semi-retirement, is most definitely pro-active in keeping us both alive.
I hope everyone on this worldwide forum stays safe, busy, and comes out of this mess even more energized than before.
Best, John "wheelson" Greensburg, PA USA

Yesterday I discovered that the local bike path is not good for avoiding crowds. Since schools and work are closed, throngs of people were biking, strolling, running, etc. If only they didn't insist on breathing during these activities! On the positive side, the roads are deserted.

On the positive side, the roads are deserted. Brian Absolutely true. The local trails, and there are many, seem always too crowded for comfort, even when I'm dressed like a bandit. On the other hand, roads that are usually rather scary for even experienced cyclists are now a dream to ride.
Stay healthy and safe, one and all.
best regards,
Frank
