Greetings All,
I just scored a Viscount Aerospace Pro on eBay, and while I am awaiting it's arrival I am gathering as much info as I can to begin a restoration project on it.
I noted somewhere that there was an Aerospace Racing Team in the 1970's and am hoping to see if anyone has a photo of what the jersey looked like.
Intentions would be to replicate the jersey for use in l'eroica rides.
Other than that, let's all keep the rubber side down, and we'll see you on the road.
--- Joe

Joe - welcome to the forum.Great choice of bike for a restoration! There are quite a few posts on here about the team (and the jersey). The search function on this forum isn't always the easiest to use, but if you have a look, then eventually you will find it. Alternatively, if you use your regular search engine and add the words 'viscount lambert forum', then sometimes it finds things on here quicker and easier than searching while on the forum.

Hi All,
So my bike has arrived, and it is suhweet!! Plenty of work needed to bring it back to pristine, but the frame is intact and the parts are all greased up and working.
Here is my question... eBay has two sets of crank decals available, one is "TA Specialties made in France" in silver, and the other is "Lambert of England" in gold.
This frame has a Crane rear derailer, if that helps date it.
Which of these decals would be "more" authentic when restoring?
Thanks in advance...

I suppose I am right in assuming that your cranks are like the one in a recent post on the 'Hunting and gathering' thread? These are indeed very similar to the TA cranks appropriate to those decals. However, I think that all the cranks of this type used as original equipment on Lamberts and Viscounts were made by someone else other than TA. I have never seen one with a TA decal. The Lambert decals were used, but I have never seen one on a Viscount, only on Lamberts. However, they are attractive and if you want to use them, why not? You may well find that the chain rings are stamped 'Lambert' after all. However, I think that for maximum authenticity Viscounts should just have the fluting filled with plain black. I have done this easily and cheaply using black electrical insulating tape. Incidentally, I have bought these repro foil decals for my Lamberts and can say that they are very good quality.

Got replacement Lambert ones for mine from H Lloyd’s and can say this was the original one used as the old decals were just about readable when I got it originally.
