Very good! It think it won him over, and as he says, 'for relaxing in the sun, for the pleasure of the sport, and the cycling heritage' - that's what it's all about isn't it?

I wonder if Matt would like to try a nice Aerospace Pro? Cheers, Pete.

It may be two to three kilos heavier than a modern bike, but what's the difference when you factor in the weight of the rider? Not much!
Lovely bike and great vid. Thanks! b

Saw this a few days ago. Only real downside was the gearing on the older bike I thought, easily fixed.

I admit it. I've got a split personality. I saw parts of me in both the modern and retro riders. There are days where I've just got to get on an old Viscount and luxuriate in the act of just riding a comfortable well designed retro bike for the enjoyment of the sport itself. And then there are days like today. Bright sun, clear skies, and chilly dry air. After not racing since late September, I just had the need/craving to get on my 18lb Motobecane Le Champion SL Ti road bike with STI's and let 'er rip while I froze my arse off. I feel fortunate that I can straddle between both worlds and appreciate all the different flavors of riding my bikes, both modern and retro.
Cheers, Michael
