Not a DFR but I will be there again, riding a Viscount or Lambert - which one will depend on the weather. Perhaps we could arrange for some Viscounts to meet and go round the course together. (If as previous years this is a circuit of about eight miles of London streets from Westminster to the heart of the City and back, all closed to motor traffic.) I'm helping to marshall a group from Hammersmith, starting at about 10:30 and so I should be free by noon.

I'm doing the RideLondon 100 on Sunday. Afraid to say I'll probably be on the Mercian though.

Good luck with the 100 tomorrow. Hope the wind isn't too strong nor the rain too hard. The event today attracted lots of people with bikes but I didn't see any Viscounts.

I was told off this morning for attempting to cycle across the race route (New Kings Road) on the way to buy some bread. The hand cycle race was run first thing starting at 8:30 in Kingston and finishing in the Mall. I saw one competitor go by, preceded by one motorcycle and followed up by two more. The heavens opened here in Fulham at about 10:00 but it has eased off now (11:00). I hope Whippet and the other Ride London 100 (cut to 86 I understand because of safety reasons) are safe. Also the professional racers this afternoon.

All fine, riding in thunderstorms is not a good idea though.

Well done Whippet,it would have been the high wind gusting through the streets that have worried me more!Cleaning the Mercian now a very high priority? Cheers, Pete.

Well done, Kev. So sorry I couldn't be there to cheer you on. Bloody windy it was, and wet!

It's not exactly around the corner, but definitely not far. 30 min ride when going along the River Lea. :-)
