I think this is without doubt something we'd all be up for?
Can those who went this year shed any light? (btw is it in Bakewell again?)
How many in a team? How much?
How do you enter?
Who's up for it?

Off top of my head, i'm sure the cost was minimum £2000 for 10, not sure what you got for that or if it the cost per head came down the more in the team. I'll have a look if I still have the paperwork. It was £70 individual entry, free parking & camping, there were special rates for first 500 registrations at £45 or £50.
I think, but don't quote me, that a team entry may have had jersey's included in the price.

I think, but don't quote me, that a team entry may have had jersey's included in the price. I just did some Google digging, and indeed as you say £2000 for a company/team. This includes a team jersey. I am confused though, as it states that the £2000 is for a minimum of 10 people, without stating a maximum. Also, over and above the jersey, it looks to be the same 'deal' as an individual entrant (ie a few goodies, drinks& snacks, and 3 days camping) So unless we entered 20 people and felt the jersey was worth £50, it would be a rather extravagant luxury to enter a team just for the sake of saying we were a team What would stop us doing the individuals early registration and then just wearing the same jersey and shouting 'we are team Viscount!' now and again. After all, we are good at posing for team photos's and we are a team!!!!! Am I missing something about the benefits of a team entrance? Is that only desirable for those with sponsorship or a product to push?

I say go pirate style. Set your own rules. Don't give the greedy bastards that big entry fee. Shout it from the mountain on out to the sea, "People On Viscounts Just Got To Be Seen". Why does that feel like a Young Rascals song???

A few random thoughts about this ..... It seems a really nice idea The entry fee &/or the distance would mean it wouldn't be for all DF rallyers The date, like this year, might be close to a likely DFR3 date. This could make it difficult for people to do both. Would this risk depleting attendance at DFR3? Is there anything to stop us organising DFR3 as an unofficial part of the Eroica cycling festival, on a different day to the main event? Might depend on the L'Eroica location. What do you think???

I'm up for that John,I don't think I'll be able to do an Eroica ride the way my arthrytis is playing up. I'd be more than happy to wave the Viscount flag in any way I could, assuming the "grim reaper" doesn't catch up with me first! I'm still hoping for DFR2.5 Cheers, Pete.

I'll definitely be doing this next year. It looked like it was superb this year. But I think that if the maths works out like it looks like it will, we shold defintiely just enter piecemeal and have our own gerilla team. We are already the best kind of team anyway.
Of course I'd change my tune if someone were to offer to fund a Vauxhall Victor team car with a rack of spare Aerospaces on top and a fella handing out bidons of Watney's Red Barrel to keep us "refreshed".

I'm up for it.
Maybe Busaste would lend us the original Team Viscount cycling jersey he brought to DFR2 so we can get it copied for our team.

Team Ghetto Viscount - under the radar!
Just slip onto the back of the pack for nothing? Or pay individually and team up if that is the cheapest option?
But, I would hate people to be faced with an either/or choice of this or DFR3 though. That would be a shame.
But a DFR 2.5 could be on a the cards to keep us going till next year.

No, I don't know him, but we have a few members here and loads on CTC that we have never met/seen. He must be pretty tall don't you think? I'd take a guess at that being Eyam hall in the background. EDIT- just looked on Eroica site, and sadly it looks like it will be a different venue next year.

Who's up for it? Hi all, Came across your site and just wanted to shed some light. I am one of the organs ors of Eroica Britannia and we are busy working on the details for next years event. We are working on a better team entry booking system and value for money so to speak. My direct email is gian@eroicabritannia.co.uk feel free to get in contact. Any of you guys at the Italy Eroica this year?

Hi Gian, Thanks for your post. Yes, we will indeed be in touch! It was a great event this year. I think I posted above some questions about team entry and the benefits for the individuals within that team. Bakewell was so successful and a great venue with spectacular rides - if I read the official web site correctly then you thinking of changing the location for 2015? That would be a shame... Regards Jem

Scott and I managed independently to do both Eroica Britannia and DFR2. Both fantastic and wonderful events. In the Eroica film www.eroicabritannia.co.uk/ I think I spotted a distinctive green and yellow jersey Scott, is that your brother? At 02:41. And again at 02:53. Plenty of Bianchi and other cycle manufacturers jerseys, so no problem having plenty of Viscount tops. Better be made of acrylic though! I met two other riders with blue Viscount Aerospaces very similar to mine - one of whom was persuaded to come along to DFR2.

Just heard back from Gian one of the Eroica organisers. I mailed him to ask for some clarification on the team entry and venue for next year.
He says announcement will soon be made on their site for the 2015 venue and we can contact him for clarification on team entry.

Does anyone know of a company that could print on merino wool jerseys then?

Back in the 70's I had a custom jersey and cycling shoes made for me by R.E.W. Reynolds. Still have both. I don't suppose they're still in business?
My FIL had a couple of beautiful wool jerseys made with sewn on lettering.

The Guvnors' Assembly used soigneur , and a very nice product it is too . Just done a quick search - these jerseys would come out to £86 including shipping.(custom designed) The acrylic are way cheaper - Triitout has already had them made up and has one, and I think Stella does too? EDIT- just looked again - they would be more than £86..nearer to £111, which just tipped me from being "blimey that's expensive but I might push the boat out" to "that's obscene and do I look like I've got money to burn?"

I guess the cost of merino makes man made the best option. 100% merino looks a bit baggy too, probably not as practical as the merino / acrylic blend from someone like Rapha.

I can only speak for myself, but,it's not the material that makes things look baggy,it's the contents! Cheers, Pete.

My soigneur top I got in medium as like all my clothes , and it turned out to be a cyclist fit ie tight . then the GA designed a long sleeved version which I purchased in a large , a better fit but still not baggy .
