Just watched a very good documentary on Netflix called 'My Italian Secret' about Gino Bartali - 25% cycling 75% the politics of the era in Italy. Interesting story with Bartali's daughter in it. Made in 2014 All the more easy to watch as Isabella Rossellini does the voice over. www.imdb.com/title/tt3233904/

I've not seen the documentary but read his story somewhere. Amazing bravery in light of the consequences of getting caught. So many stories of people doing the right thing like Bartali's are finally seeing the light of day and that's great in light of today's environment. Thanks for sharing Jem!
PS, Don't miss Springsteen on Broadway on Netflix!

Yes, such bravery. He played a part in so many lives. An inspiring story to 'do the right thing'.
Springsteen on Broadway...Micheal there are no words to describe how good that is. I almost posted up on here when I'd watched it. I came across it by chance a day or two after it was released (which wasn't long after it was filmed?), and thought I'd just watch the first minute or so - I ended up staying up late and watching the whole thing as I couldn't drag myself away from the screen. Mesmerising performance.
I saw him back in the 80's and would love to have seen him in a more intimate setting, and this is the closest i'm ever going to get. Something about the filming of it made you feel like you were there. You weren't one of the lucky folk who saw went during the run were you?

That sounds great, must get Netflix. Cop pi was probably more famous but he supported the fascists so I’ll prefer Bartali.
