We have this phenomenon of outlaw cycle gangs (they all themselves tribes) having late night races and mass rides. They actually take over some of the downtown streets in Los Angeles. I am curious if this happens elsewhere, or is it simply California Crazy in action. See link for information.

Not heard of this in the UK and most certainly not in China although red lights there are apparent not intended for cyclists who just ride through in the knowledge that if you hit them you lose financially......I always thought that a strange mentality as if you are dead or crippled that’s often not much use!
From the article this seems relatively crime free but in the UK would no doubt be stamped out immediately by the Health and Safety brigade protecting us from ourselves and risk. I can imagine America will develop some new quality pro riders from this scene before long, generally from these sort of beginnings you can get fresh faces into a sport.
Thanks for sharing the link, really interesting!

I like the female gang's names. Interesting article . Although completely different the idea reminds me of guerrilla gardening that I think we imported to UK from USA a few years back.
While I do not ordinarily advocate breaking the law , this to me confirms a long held belief that authority doesn't listen to reasonable argument - you might need to get noticed in order to change things. Pretty sure the suffragettes had a good argument but women would still be waiting for the vote if they had their hand up and were waiting in line nicely. They needed to take direct action.
Solidarity with the cyclists!
