The original pedals from my Lambert which when I got it were seized solid now spin freely enough following a lot of WD40 and oil dribbled into the spindles but my next step is to clean them up.
On the underside there is some oxidisation and it seems these were either painted or coated in some silver finish many years back.
Does anyone know if this was the original Lambert finish or has someone painted them at a later stage as I want to clean and restore but am unsure what to use. I could shot blast back to the original alloy but then what should I finish them with to get the original look?
Any thoughts would be welcomed on this.

The first set I ever owned were painted or perhaps powder coated in a tough, silver finish. The shells were quite rough, so, in a huge project of ever diminishing returns, I removed the paint and filed and sanded the shells to a near mirror finish. I never refinished them, so maintenance was a bit of a problem...The set I have now appears to be just the raw aluminum.

Thanks, at the moment I have just rubbed back the damaged area and feathered the edges in so most of the original paint is left. I’m going to see how close I can get some touch up to Blend in as the bulk of them are fine, just the undersides are damaged so hopefully I can do a reasonable restoration job here. It’s amazing how good crud and oily gunge preserves bikes at times.....
