I got a steel rear wheel over the weekend; in the store, I would be surprised if it weighs much more than some of the '70s/'80s alloy rear wheels we might still put of use nowadays. This isn't for the Aerospace but, who knows, it might do the job.
Anyone care to tackle what is the oldest wheel they still run on their bikes? Most of what I ride are '70s/'80s vintage.
Oh, and the cost was $25 rounded; so around £ 20 I believe. Pretty good versus paying about 3 times that for an alloy(?) wheel. And strong.

Clicked on this link thinking it was a Rolling Stones post , I saw them on the Steel Wheels tour Just instinctively I'd have guessed that a steel was 1/4 more weight than alloy, but that is just based on gut reaction and 70's wheels.
